Honeymoon. No, not that kind of honeymoon....
When you come home to a clear sky and a full honeymoon peeking out over the house you scramble to get the camera! When I took this it was incredibly windy and despite how anchored down I made the tripod the wind just kept shaking the camera. I may need to figure something else out when I use the telescoping lens. Zooming in far causes any minor shakes to be exaggerated, to the naked eye the camera didnt appear to shake however when compiling the timelapse clearly the wind affected the shot.
The other timelapse was my first HDR (High Dynamic Range) timelapse. HDR is 3 pictures compiled as one using 3 different exposure settings to create a very wide and broad histogram. When you click the shutter button to take a picture you actually hear 3 very fast pictures taken then inside the camera it mashes them together with what it thinks as the best composition. With this being a sunset I needed to change my exposure and aperture a few times to adjust to the decreasing light, (holy grail technique from last week). Processing the holy grail in LRTimelapse it is most effective using the RAW images which I assumed is what the HDR composite was…WRONG. That’s why you don’t assume, and it is why you see the jumps in light change during a few segments in the timelapse.
Thoughts and What’s Next?
Overall I’m so so on the result, certainly not my best but not my worst. I’m also sorry for this being so late on Tuesday, when I went to render the video last night I ran into a small problem…no space left on my harddrive! It took all night Monday and most of today to transfer old pictures and files to an external harddrive to make space. Once it finished I was able to render and post. On the plus side I was actually very busy taking a lot of timelapses last week and I have 3 already ready to go. They are all hyperlapses so my goal was to spend this entire week making sure I focus on learning After Effects to get these hyperlapses as smooth as possible. I have some pretty cool plans for them and cannot wait until next week.
For those that haven’t followed me on instagram yet… you missed out on the special timelapse last week! I hit 1,000 followers and made a fun little video to thank everyone for the support. I still think you should use the link below and follow, however I wont leave you completely out of the loop so here is the special edit!
